What’s your name and where do you come from?
Nia Bradley. I come from a tiny little village halfway up a mountain in sunny old Wales.
Tell us a bit about your latest release.
My latest release is called ‘B is for Beth, B is for Babysitter’, it’s part of my Sexy Shorts series that is a growing collection of erotic shorts. Beth has been babysitting for Mr Thompson for years, but when she finds out he is moving away next week, she decides it's now or never to see if her naughty little fantasies might just come true for real. An unsuspecting Mr Thompson answers the door to find the sexy and confident Beth doesn't want to take no for an answer!
Do you have a favourite character from your books? Why are they your favourite?
I really like Rachel from “Teaching Tom to Share”, I like her confidence, her personal strength and how loving and giving she is. I found her really easy to write about because I liked her character so much.
What’s the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for you?
My partner took me on a surprise romantic break in Dublin. Gorgeous hotel, a packed day of sights and shopping and then we had a booking in a cosy little restaurant with wine, candles and great food that reminded me of when we were first dating . I’m a soppy romantic at heart!
What do you do to unwind and relax?
I love a long, hot bath. Alone or shared, both feel so indulgent and relaxing and bring out the hedonist in me. There’s something special about being immersed in hot, bubbly water, surrounded by candles, just kicking back and taking an hour to just be you.
How do you decide how hot or not your book is going to be?
I like my stories to be hot and steamy. I do like to add some romance in to my longer stories, but I would still say I write romantic erotica, rather than erotic romance. The distinction might be a little subjective but I prefer to write about sex more than swooning!
Is there any erotic scenarios you wouldn’t write about?
I only write about things that I find sexy. I don’t condemn authors or readers of things that I’m not in to, but I don’t enjoy writing about stuff I don’t find sexy and don’t think I’d be able to do it any justice really. I like to write about consensual sex; I enjoy kinky things and love fantasising but I have no interest personally in some of the more niche and extreme erotica.
Is the stuff you write about from experience or mostly imagination?
A bit of both really. I always tweak the details if it’s based on personal experience as it’s supposed to be sexy and fun, not an over-revealing diary. Plenty of what I write about starts out as a naughty little fantasy that just feels right for a story.
What do you do to get in the mood for writing love scenes? Candles, music etc?
I find it’s much the same as writing in general for me. I just need peace and quiet and to be focused on what I am working on. I save the candles and romantic music for quality time with my partner!
What do you do when you’re not writing?
Work in my real job (sadly, as much as I love writing it is still a hobby at the moment) and take the dog out for long walks on the beach and in the hills. Oh and indulge my love of shopping at every opportunity!_____________________________________________________________
