Thumbs Up Thursday - Velvet Steel by Suzanne Rock

Every Thursday we will place a review or two on this blog. we plan only to do reviews for books that we have really enjoyed. Ones that we have bought and read ourselves. Today I'm posting a review that I wrote last year for Velvet Steel by Suzanne Rock.  The reason I picked this is because it sticks out in my mind as the first menage I read. It made me a fan of MMF menage. I couldn't imagine moving to MFM where the men do not have a sexual connection too. It also made me want to write my own menage, which I eventually did.
It was with some trepidation that I started reading Velvet Steel. I'm a romantic at heart and had never tried to read a menage story. So I was a little apprehensive. But I'm open-minded and as a would-be romance author myself, I am attempting to open myself up to new experiences. And what an experience it was.
Kitty, Shane and Noah are deeply complex characters, each hiding a bit of themselves from the others. While they are sexually open and willing to give themselves up and be caring towards one another, they don't communicate very well - particularly Noah and Shane. The introduction of Kitty into their relationship completes them but the fly in the ointment is that they started out on this sexual journey in the hope of getting her to convince her father to sell the family steel business to them. The sexual tension is increased by the other tension in the story as we wonder when Kitty will find this out.
As a newbie to menage, I thoroughly enjoyed this and it has made me less reluctant to try something new in the future
Shane and Noah set out to seduce Kitty Velvet into selling them her family’s struggling steel company at a deep discount. They plan a weekend of deception and sexual adventure to convince her to give up the business she spent her life keeping afloat. As they begin their passionate getaway, things don’t go as planned. Instead of putting their rival out of business, they gain deeper feelings for the feisty blonde – and for each other. With their world upside down, Shane and Noah must now decide if business ambitions are worth losing a chance at something bigger than money, and more precious than owning a steel empire.

Kitty has worked hard to keep Velvet Steel afloat, but changing technologies and the growth of their rivals have made the company’s continued viability almost impossible. As she embarks on a erotic weekend to de-stress and regroup, she develops feelings for two strangers who turn out to be the very men who have made her life a living hell for the past year. But is saving her family business worth losing her only chance at love?

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: anal play/intercourse, capture fantasy, male/male sexual practices, menage (m/m/f).
