Saturday Storyteller Interview: Ashton Kingsley

Please welcome Ashton to our blog today as she tells us how she writes hot heroes and what she finds sexy...

What’s your name and where do you come from?
I have two pens:  Katie St. Claire and Ashton Kingsley.  I'm from a distance planet, far, far, away. Swear to God. Actually, I'm from Michigan.

Tell us a bit about your latest release.
My latest release is Rewind Forward of the Moon series, and I'm working on the third instalment, along with my first erotic romance this summer. It's tentatively titled, "Unleashing Amy."

How do you go about creating the perfect "Swoon" worthy man?
I like a dominant, Alpha male. I take the best of those character traits, and even throw in some of the more aggravating ones to keep it real. I want women to feel a little frustrated by their Alpha, but not so much that they're turned off...just intrigued.

What’s your biggest turn on?
Intelligence. It all starts in the mind.

Do you have a favourite character from your books? Why are they your favourite?
Julia is my favorite character from Second Hand Stops, Rewind Forward, and the upcoming Twelfth Hour. She's a massive little wreck, but totally in charge. I love her wit, vulnerability, and strength. In my erotic novel, tentatively titled, "Unleashing Amy," I'm quite partial to Gabe Alexander. He's an alpha male with a heart, and he really knows how to unleash a woman.

What’s your greatest weakness?
Interestingly enough, my greatest weakness is also my greatest strength. Sensitivity.

What trait do you find the sexiest?
The sexiest thing on the planet is a dominant an Alpha Male who knows his way around a woman's body.

How do you decide how hot or not your book is going to be?
I consider my audience. If I want a wider audience, I keep it PG13. If I'm writing for adults only, I push the envelope, simply because I can.

What’s your idea of a perfect romantic evening?
Cooking dinner together, talking all night, and making love in front of the fireplace for hours. I'd be perfectly content with almost any scenario as long as it was intimate and off the charts passionate.

Tell us something that might surprise our readers.
I write erotica as a release. It also charges my batteries when I'm feeling uninspired.

Thrilling paranormal romance with a big splash of science fiction and mystery. Julia Malone's adventures continue right where SecondHand Stops left off. In Rewind Forward, she's on a collision course with heartbreak, hidden family secrets, and an almost unimaginable power. Her abilities continue evolving, and something reveals her past, present and future in a way that is nothing less than spectacular.

Van Buren Industries releases a new line of facial cream called Immortality, and it flies off the shelves of major department stores. Are catastrophic repercussions brewing on the horizon? Only time can answer that question…
