Book Spotlight and Review: A Most Unusual Princess by Kelli A. Wilkins

Princess Elara needs to find a royal husband, but claims that no man can satisfy her. Her father hires Dalton, a special guard, to watch over her while she’s courting suitors. Dalton finds her unusual behaviors charming—and enthralling.

Dalton’s aloof manner intrigues Elara, and despite their differences, they share tender moments and intimate nighttime encounters. Elara is heartbroken when her father chooses a “proper” husband for her—until she meets the mystery man.

A Most Unusual Princess takes place in a medieval setting reminiscent to that of Lord of the Rings although the sex scenes are probably more Game of Thrones! The setting is fantasy rather than wholly historical but is totally perfect for the short, indulgent read that it is.
The biggest appeal of this for me was its light-heartedness. It was apparent from the first page A Most Unusual Princess was not going to be heavy read and I really appreciated that. Dalton is sexy, naughty and loves to tease. Elara gives as good as she gets, leading to some great banter.
The sex scenes were hot but not overly heavy. It felt perfect for their relationship. This novella delivered everything I expect from a hot historical fantasy novella--a nice, enjoyable fun and sexy read, perfect for just before bed or when you have a spare hour or two.
